Since coming to England from Taiwan in the late 1980s, I have always been fortunate to have a small North London garden. This has enabled me to grow and experiment with flowers and plants in general. Stemming from this, has been my love of working with flowers in a design sense. Although I don't enjoy painting still life works, I very much enjoy arranging flowers and works that involve a decorative design. During the 1990s I did a number of friends' weddings and spent some years doing show piece arrangements for a client's jewelry exhibition stand.
In 2006, I took a one week refresher course at Jane Packer to help me to get to a more serious level of understanding and creativity. Presently, I continue to do my own work while working in local florists, in a casual freelance capacity.
All flowers and plants are astoundingly beautiful on thier own, so it is a dynamic challenge to ensure their integrity is upheld and even enhanced when working with them. It's a challenge that I enjoy tackling. The stimulation and reward from success is a real pleasure.
